Al Green
It isn’t every wedding that has Al Green as the entertainment.
He was PHENOMENAL.
Let me say that again, PHENOMENAL! Off the hook!

Rachael and Alan were married on Jan.13th at the Wyndham Hotel in Arlington. We had just tons of fun at their wedding and got some great shots throughout the day
You can view Alan and Rachael’s slideshow by clicking here. I’ve added massive selection of my faves from the day below:

When I met with Heather and Jason, I knew that their wedding was going to be exceptional. Both of them are such amazing, lovely, wonderful people and they are so very deeply in love.
I’m going to show a handful of favourites from their wedding day but I highly recommend you view their slideshow because this wedding is so unique and full of such wonderful details and emotions.
Heather and Jason got married at a private residence in Denton, Texas on the hottest day of the year (I think it was around 106 or 108 degrees). Jason and his friends and family spent weeks laying sod and putting finishing touches all over the place to make everything perfect for the wedding day.
I was lucky to have my friend and fantastic photographer David Tjiptogarsono fly down from Kansas City to second shoot this wedding with me. Thanks, David. You are THE best!
Now, some of my faves:

A portrait of Heather and her grandmother. I confess that Heather’s grandmother made me cry when she pulled me aside and told me how much Heather meant to her. It was an emotional moment and it makes me tear up even now just thinking about the depth of love that I heard in her voice.

Heather peeking through the bedroom window at the guests gathering for the ceremony downstairs. I love her hand against the glass

Heather and Jason at the beginning of the ceremony. Look at that smile!

The bridesmaids in the foreground and the guests and Heather and Jason behind. Notice that the girls are all barefoot and in dresses the colours of sunset. Heather and most of the girls bought their beautiful dresses from J.Crew. Perfect!

Prayer during the ceremony

The first kiss with all of the groomsmen in the foreground

The sun had already set when we did the following two portraits of Jason and Heather. I love the soft, twighlight light and the quiet, sweet moment between them.

Congratulations to Heather and Jason! You touched my life and reminded me again why I’m so blessed to do what I do.

Brianna and Jason had a unique and lovely wedding back in August. They got ready at the Fairmont Hotel , held their outdoor ceremony at Fountain Place and their reception at Avanti Restaurant. Quite a few of these images are in black & white as both Brianna and Jason love black & white photography (me too!)

My New Year’s resolution is to be more prompt with my blog entries. So, with that in mind, over the next few days I’m going to post some weddings from last year that I ran out of time to blog in the heat of wedding season overload
I haven’t mentioned her but we adopted a kitten a couple months ago. I let Shane name her as long as he chose something beginning with the letter “A” (I always name my cats something beginning with “A”), I was gunning for Artemesia but he chose Ada Lovelace. Turns out it didn’t matter as she refuses to acknowledge any names.
She was tiny, now she’s six months and 7 lbs. She managed to break her leg somehow while we were gone yesterday so now she’s at the kitty hospital getting fixed. My poor baby

I knew from the moment I met Ed and Julee that their wedding was going to be one of those perfect occasions…lots of love, unique details, close family and beautiful moments all day long.
I was right
It was all about the hats on Ed and Julee’s day. Check out Julee’s awesome birdcage veil and hat:

A minimalistic portrait of Julee

Julee’s little niece was such an adorable flowergirl. Here she is peaking at me during the girls’ prayer circle before the ceremony.

Ed’s sons and Julee’s niece through the glass door right before walking down the aisle. This one is not only one of my favourite wedding images, I think it’s one of the strongest photographs I’ve ever taken.

A moment outside right after the ceremony. I loooove this image.

Portrait of the gorgeous couple in the church.

The cake cutting was a family affair.

I love the silhouettes of the family members against the window at the reception. You can see the Dallas skyline in the distance too.

Congrats to Ed and Julee, your wedding will always hold a special place in my heart.
Congratulations to Buddy and Jill! Buddy and my husband Shane went to high school together so this wedding was extra fun for us to photograph. Buddy and Jill are such a great couple, full of love and laughter. Just my type of people

A pretty portrait of Jill under her veil.

and a shy flowergirl

Buddy was a good sport and let me drag him outside to the parking lot of the reception so I could catch a plane from DFW airport taking off.

Congrats to Faarzein and Ray! While this couple lives in Boston, they had me come to Odessa, Texas to shoot their event. On Friday they had a mehndi and sangeet. On Saturday they had a ceremony and reception. Needless to say, we had a fantastic time at this wedding. I’ve done a few Indian and Bengali weddings and they are always soooo much fun!
Faarzein and Ray are a truly lovely couple, they were so sweet and so in love, they reminded me of why I so love being a wedding photographer. Faarzein is just stunningly beautiful and her saris were just breathtaking, just look below!
I’m posting more photos than average so I’ll leave out the descriptions.

Congratulations to Sarah and Mike! Sarah, her mom Terry and I spent quite a bit of time together leading up to the wedding and they made me feel like part of the family. Sarah is not only gorgeous but just about the sweetest person you could ever meet.

Here’s Mike looking awesome in the balcony of the church

Anticipation right before the ceremony

This is after the ceremony during the dress bustling. I absolutely love the emotion on Sarah’s face. It’s so unbelievably sweet.

A shot in the limo on the way to the reception. Did I mention how gorgeous she is? ![]()

I looove this dance shot. The cool lights from super awesome dj Marcus Rollins. Check out the cool lens flare ![]()

Sarah showing another great emotional moment before Mike goes for the garter:

The rose petal toss exit. I can’t decide if I like petal tosses or bubble exits best.
